Somerset Sportsman's Club Rules

SOMERSET SPORTSMAN'S CLUB RULES AND REGULATIONS

It is the responsibility of each member to ensure safe handling of all firearms on Club grounds. All firing is to be done from defined firing lines and at approved targets. No firing at any target without a proper backstop is allowed.

Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on the pistol, rifle and trap ranges. Members or guests who are intoxicated are not allowed on the rifle, pistol or trap ranges at any time.

Members are allowed only one guest on the rifle and pistol range (not included as guests are immediate family, father, mother, wife, son or daughter. Member must be present with family or guest.

On the trap range, hand traps are not allowed at any time. Shotguns are not allowed on the rifle and pistol range unless firing slugs or unless used in conjunction with combat matches.

Loaded pistols must be kept holstered at all times in the clubhouse. Rifles or shotguns must never be loaded in the clubhouse.

It is the responsibility of all members of the Club to maintain a clean clubhouse and unlittered Club grounds.

Any member reported to the Board of Directors for violating any of the above rules may be called to a hearing at a Board of Directors meeting and if found guilty, may receive a warning, be suspended or expelled from the Club.

All member dues must be paid in full by March 31st of each year. Members whose dues are delinquent on April 1st, unless an extension has been approved by ruling of the Board of Directors in advance, will be considered inactive and will no longer enjoy Club privileges. These members will be required to submit a new application, pay an initiation fee and be placed on a waiting list, if applicable, to once again become a member in good standing.

Any member found damaging the Club and/or grounds or pilfering from the Club will be immediately expelled from the Club and may have legal charges filed against him.

Fighting on Club property is prohibited. Members involved in altercations will be called to a hearing of the Board of Directors.
